The e-commerce firm will donate part of purchases to Bristol Children’s Hospital charity The Grand Appeal.

The Grand Appeal, which supports Bristol Children’s Hospital, has linked up with e-commerce firm Wowcher for a fundraising push.

Under the deal the company will donate 2% of sales to The Grand Appeal on local Bristol deal purchases on the Wowcher website between June and August.

Wowcher, which includes offers on restaurants, spas and entertainment, has 140,000 Bristol subscribers.

Maxine Moustrides, Corporate Fundraiser at The Grand Appeal, said: “The 2% donations will make a huge difference to the lives of the brave babies, children, and their families that we meet every day at Bristol Children’s Hospital.”

“Whether it’s free family accommodation helping to keep families together at critical times, sensory play sessions for children with additional needs or vital medical equipment and research, the generosity from Wowcher and their customers will make a lasting impact, and we are so grateful for their amazing support.”

The charity is currently supporting more than 100 projects including accomadation for families of critically ill children, nursing and play specialists and help for bereaved families.

Wowcher offers that support The Grand Appeal are labelled on its website.

Supporting businesses

Roland Bryan, Chief Executive Officer of Wowcher, said: “Supporting local businesses is at the core of who we are and with our recent expansion in Bristol, we wanted to support the local community, too. That’s why we’re delighted to be partnering up with The Grand Appeal to help further drive their pioneering work in the city.

“Together with our customers, we can make a huge difference to children and their families at Bristol Children’s Hospital who rely on the vital care and support that it offers.”

Previous fundraising by The Grand Appeal involved using contactless donation points using a Wallace and Gromit themed sculpture trail.
