INTRODUCTION
The UK is a rainbow of different cultures which are rarely placed in the spotlight enough. When you turn on the TV and watch the news, we are mostly only ever exposed to bad news and conflict between nations. We believe it’s time to celebrate the differences that define us, bringing various cultures together under one roof. We have so much to earn from one another, if we are just willing to listen.
THE IDEA
SACF, short for the Street Art & Culture Festival, will unfold across several venues in Tyne & Wear. Each festival will showcase our incredible wealth of regional and national artist pieces. These will be pre-designed and installed prior to the festival’s start date, and will include pieces of poetry, sculptures, and the performing arts. Each festival will also delve into the UK’s rich cultural landscape, bursting with unique artist pieces, music, dancing, and family entertainment from all around the world. Guests will enjoy a broad range of family workshops covering things like crafts, art, music, dancing, and more entertainment yet to be announced.
HOW IT WORKS
The festival will be held over a period of 7 days, prospectively throughout July and August 2020. The festival is committed to families and coordinated in partnership with other cultural organizations. Families of all religions, denominations, and cultures will get the chance to learn more about cultures they know nothing about, while sharing more about their own cultures with others. It’s not a competition – it’s about learning more about one another and bringing our nation just a little bit closer together.
THE COSTS
The SACF project will crowdfund with the vision of funding the initial setup of the arts & culture festival, the employment or contract of staff during the festival, local authority event licencing, and the first year project running costs. It is projected that the project will make a profit of in its first year of trading, all of the profits will be reinvested back into the project to help the festival become financially sustainable and an annual event in Tyne & Wear.
All project costs are segregated into various critical project demands, including:
THE BOTTOM LINE
We are striving to expose the nation to our incredibly diverse range of cultures while giving families a fun family event to attend and raise money for meaningful causes. We are breaking cultural boundaries and ‘tying the knot’ between different religions and denominations by celebrating the things that make us different.
